Expiration date in the detailing...

Hello everyone,

I would like to touch on a thread that is too often forgotten and yet essential!

Few people use our products daily and when we accumulate the products (for example to test them),we have enough stock for a few years!
My 303 Aerospace dates from the spring 2010 because i only use it for the dressing of my engine (it's crazy !!! ) and i still use it (successfully)...

I even have polish that are 9 years old that I do not dare to use for fear !!

I think the cleaners (shampoos, APC ...) have no expiry date but what about waxes, glazes and polish?

To you 😉

anything with volatile solvents (waxes, compounds) will slowly lose them, and some products like ceramic coatings react with air.

No container is perfect, so eventually enough solvent will escape or air will get in, that the products gets too hard to use. Wax for example will eventually return to its natural state, a brittle solid. You could actually revive this by heating with the appropriate amount of solvent and re-setting. Ceramics are useless once they go off though, and abrasives are not even worth the risk.

And for products like the Wolfgang duo (DGPS / Paint Enhancer)? I acquired it 2 years ago and since we use very little, i'm ready for a few more years! : D
