I’ve used Simoniz Chrome and Plastic polish before, about £6 from Halfords. Blob on a MF, and just work it by hand.

http://www.halfords.com/motoring/car...-cleaner-200ml

Says Chrome, but works perfectly on gloss black trim (shadow chrome trim on a bmw) and plastic chrome on other cars.

RaceGlaze has a dedicated product, but I haven’t tried it yet...

hard to call without seeing the panel but still stands least abrasive 1st. so by hand with something like Srp or what already have then maybe white hex on da if not gone. anything more I would not like to call it minor
and you would need something with more bite

Menzerna Metal Polishing Cream is what I'd use for that.
