Bit of advice

Hi everyone,

Hopefully I'm posting this in the right section. I work as a bus driver and have asked about taking one of the buses from the depot to a bus show not too far away. I want to give it a bit of a mini detail so it looks presentable for the show, slight dilemma I have is, most of the bus is covered in vinyl graphics so just wondering would anything like tar or iron removers cause any issues with the graphics on It?

Have attached a couple of photos of it also.

There definitely dedicated products for vinyl, although I’ve never had any need to use them.
It might be worth having a word with an autosmart rep for this.

Be very careful on wrapped vehicles with tar remover, as it will dissolve the glue, and probably the print.

is it mostly tar you need to clean off?
what do they use at the mo on them? i'm guessing a strong TFR? just trying to gauge how strong of a mixture you could use on it?

Agreed, for something like this, I would be going straight to auto smart and asking what they recommended. You're going to need a fair bit of product!

After seeing those pictures does anyone else, like me, suddenly have strong urge to detail a bus?

Yep! Group DW detailing project haha. Going to need quite a bit snow foam though!

To be honest, I won't really know what it'll need until a week before the show.

Last I remember it was autoglym who supplied cleaning products for the buses, but as a government run operator it goes out to public tender after a certain period, so tends to change from time to time.

If I can't take the bus in the photos I'll be taking one of these instead.

Put through a nice automatic wash every night so no shortage of swirl marks for anyone that fancies a challenge!
