S1 Lotus Exige

A week wouldn't be complete without a Lotus of some description, and this time its one of my favourites. A stunning Laser Blue S1 Exige, looking like its straight out of the GT race series. I love these to bits!

Already in pretty good condition, parts of the car had some mild swirlage. Try as I might, I just couldn't get decent pictures and a 50/50 shot just wasn't happening with the camera.

What I will say is that apart from an AMV8 I did, I don't think I have every seen such stunning metal flake from a factory paint job - in the sunshine it looked jewel encrusted. I tried to capture it, but the pics don't do it justice.

Here we are on arrival, already looking pretty clean apart from the wheels which were going brown with the brake dust:

Soaked with the Gilmour, washed with TBM, de-tarred with AG Tar remover and de-bugged and de-contaminated with Sonus Green clay before being rinsed again and dried then taped.

Polished with the rotary using a Megs polishing pad and Menz 3.02 on the rotary, it finished down beautifully - not a single case of clumping, buffer hop or hologramming. It reminded me why Menz can be such a great product to use.

I didn't bother with much in the way of pictures through the correction because as I say, I just couldn't get any meaningful shots. Took a couple to get the flake, but by the time I'd finished and the owner got home, the clouds had mooched over and dulled it all down a little.

Still, with my favourite EZ Creme glaze, Blitz sealant (fancied a change from Jetseal) and 50/50 wax on the paintwork, it still looked stunning. Wheels were treated with Jetseal, tyres and trim with New Look Trim Gel, exhaust tiip with NXT metal polish.

Sorry, went a bit mad with the finished shots because I love it! Back tomorrow to do their Range Rover Vogue, which should be fun.....

And before anyone i.e. 13YON says it, the dark puddle on the driveway is water, not oil.

Stunning.

I have done a protection on an identical coloured one. Incredible car.

What did you finish the alloys with, if anything, as they look quite glossy for a matt painted wheel.
