Today saw the chance for Envy to get their hands on another M3 coupe
and whats better than one that belongs to an existing customer and DW member....Deep DwellerNot seen Jon for a few months so it was a nice surprise when he got in touch to do his new M3 coupe. Wax choice was left in my hands, and as he'd previously tried Divine, I suggested a Vintage wax from the opposition and he said yes. Had a look at the car last weekend when he 1st got it and noticed a buffer trail, and Jon himself said there was a scratch he'd like removed. Typical new car prep these days Ok on with the detail, the car upon arrival: ![]() ![]() ![]() The scratch ![]() ![]() ![]() Ok as per usual 1st wash the wheels, I use the following brush selection ![]() and spray the wheels with smart wheels, allow to soak and agitate with the brushes. The Raceglaze one is especially suited to the M3 alloys as you can see ![]() Once the wheels were cleaned the car was pre-soaked with Espuma Activo which is a foaming TFR which can be applied via foam lance ![]() Rinsed ![]() then foamed with SSF and rinsed. ![]() Being a brand new car I was doing my utmost to limit hands on washing, hence the TFR and SSF with no washing by hand. Once the SSF was rinsed I washed the car by two bucket method, lambs wool wash mitt and grit guards. Rinsed and dried with Raceglaze one pass towels then clayed, and time for a clear look at the defects. Buffer trails ![]() ![]() PTG showed plenty so this was attacked with the Metabo and Megs pad with Megs 83, which broke down nicely to leave a finish like this ![]() ![]() All gone The scratch on the passenger side was reduced with Metabo with Megs cutting pad and Menz PG followed by IP but was not able to get a good pic of it Once this was all sorted the paint was PC'd with Lime Lite Prime to cleanse the paint, and buffed off with a clean MF. All this preparation was geared to the waxing of the beast with a Vintage wax and to make sure the paint was as should be, and as good as it possibly could be. Vintage was applied with a foam applicator to ensure even coverage, then buffed with a clean Z MF. Tyres were dressed with Highstyle, glass with AS Glass, exhaust polished with Autosol, Wheels waxed with Autobahn wheel wax. Here are the afters: ![]() ![]() New rear badge (during the detail eh Jon )![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Stunning Carbon roof ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And finally ![]() Thanks for looking, Tim Last edited by Envy Valeting; 05-04-2008 at 07:40 AM. |
