Poor Guy.....
Hi Guys
I dont know if any of you have followed the thread below... but in summary, a Jag owner's car was damaged. The owner understood this to have happened while in the care of his dealer. This has now been tried in court. Case details: Trevor Matthews V Guy Salmon Jaguar Northampton Northampton County Court Case Number 7NN03833 http://www.jaguarforum.co.uk/viewtop...er=asc&start=0 Its worth reading and hopefully some can contribute to the poor guys funds as he is will be bankrupt very soon... Sad times David |

Sad but not an unusual situation these days, we have a legal system that simply fails the people it's there to help.

Any chance of summarising the highlights so that we don't have to read all 29 pages?
Why is he going to be bankrupt? |

Just read about 18 pages of it and got the gist of it.
Really bad case, could have happened to anyone on here who takes their car to the dealer. Like you mention its really good to see members of the jag forum offering to chip in some spare cash. If anything is to be learned its make sure you go over the car, with anyone who is taking it off you for work to be done, and mark every imperfection. |

Read this page for what happened in court. Now dealer wants at least £15,000 in costs
![]() Could he not have gone to a no win no fee lawyers? Last edited by Aero; 11-07-2008 at 01:42 AM. |

I feel sorry for him, granted.
But cases don't just go against all that is logical and common sense. As with everything on the internet take what you read with a pinch of salt as it is quite easy to withold little facts that make a big difference. Also what were his legal advisors thinking? Surely they would have had some inclination that the case could possibly not go his way and advised him that he could be left with thousands of pounds worth of legal fees, all for the cost of a £500 respray. Yeah I agree with you rmorgan84, he does seem very confident about winning until it gets to court when it all goes pear shaped for him.
Guess he has to say Tata to a lot of money now
