Once applied will alloy wheel cleaners start to strip the coating?

c5 will get damaged by acid wheel cleaners and some of the more powerful non acidic ones.
tbh you don't really need to use strong wheel cleaners with it so best to stick to shampoos and a citrus degreaser if you need some extra cleaning power. for application. it requires that there is nothing on the surface of the rim so that the coating can make it's bond directly onto the paint rather than having to go through a layer of wax/oil. do a double dab of c5 on the applicator pad - this should be enough for all but the blingest of 21" rims! wipe all over the surface. make sure the wheel is cool, dry and out of direct sunlight and you have good light as it's quite difficult to see where you have and haven't applied c5 on silver paint. once you've put product on one rim then you need to remove residue on that rim before going to the next. use a microfibre to remove residue. nb you are removing residue, not buffing. don't use too much pressure as you will be in danger of pulling partly cured coating off the surface. |

btw on all our crystal lacquer based products - you will find a very good hydrophobicity with the product for a long period - you will notice beading for around a year on bodywork - probably less for wheels (in fact on this test panel which came back to us last week after 2 years on a Hong Kong roof top c1 was still beading!!)
but the beading will die out a long time before the coating fails. we have panels on which you can clearly see the lacquer is still there (deeper colour than surrounding areas and resisting swirling) but the beading has all but gone. c3 is good for getting the beading back again
