Somewhere in the middle for me. I don't like the greasy look. I like a dark black with a tint of shine in the texture of the tyre.

Gone for Satin but car colour can play a part. Shiny tyres on a red car v a black car, different altogether.

for me it depends what mood im in tbf but more often i go for a glossy finish which complements my car more than a matte finish :thumb:

Matt...

organgrinder
08-12-2015, 12:18 PM
Satin, using Gtechniq T1. If I am in the mood I will get a bit more shine with a second coat but I don't like the high shine and Matt is too much like nothing.

Satin, adds a bit of contrasts when the car is very glossy.

Satin for me, shiny scream 2 things for me either wheels for sale or straight outta local hand car wash, Matt looks good on older vehicles.

Like any detailing its all personal preference though.

Cy-Zuki
08-12-2015, 06:14 PM
Satin verging on slight gloss.

To me, this looks like it has been dressed and is not JUST a clean tyre.

Hate overly glossy though.

Risdale
08-12-2015, 06:21 PM
Glossy but not too glossy, but I may be biased as I have a red car and it seems to have a nice contrast against the solid paint.

steelghost
08-12-2015, 06:47 PM
Matt or satin for me - basically like a new very clean tyre.

Not a big fan of the shiny look (although I admit on the right car it can look really good).

How about the Tyre dressings they slap on via a paint brush to give that dripping wet look at those £5 car washes, does that count. :D

Depends on the wheels for me...

Currently gloss silver on both black cars, so love glossy - Sonax Extreme High Gloss Gel.

I've ordered a set of HRE wheels in tarmac/satin black so will go for a natural finish - Zaino Z16.

I'm going to be difficult:D,I like all three looks, depending on what tyre sidewall it's being applied too,if you get my drift.SJ.

I'm with the above.

For me, a smooth sidewall suits a matt or satin finish, whereas others with the small ribs etc are easier on the eye with a wet look finish.

Satin, but many treatments are either too shiny or too matte.
Longevity is a factor too for me.

tosh
22-12-2018, 12:55 PM
I donít mind shiny; because after a day all of that goes and you should be left with deep black.

The look of tyre dressing is more important from day 2 to end of life. Any dressing that doesnít go patchy and stays dark is jmoortant for me. And that seems to be Carpro Perl, Gtechniq T1, Adams VRT, etc.

Depends on the car for me. When I had a black car, I liked satin, as the black paintwork was the really glossy bit, and glossy tyres was overkill. Now I have a grey car, I prefer a glossy tyre as I feel they can 'shout' a bit more without being over the top. Mark AG
