Aluminium protection?
Hi guys,

my friend as a Range rover which the side steps are looking worse for wear, what is decent to use to bring them back to life and add some protection?

Look like these below

Raceglaze 'Hindsight' kit might be worth a states it's for window surrounds and roof rails, but I'd think it'll do the same job :)

Thanks will have a look at that, also seen Britemax Final Shine Metal Polish will that work too?

Yep Britemax Final Polish is pretty good.
It does a good job of cleaning up aluminium too.

And it is supposed to add a protective layer to the aluminium too.

Just be cautious with polishing as this could remove / abrade the anodise layer which is only going to be approx 25 microns and you will lose the satin finish

You could end up with a patchy finish that will need regular polishing to stop the oxidising that aluminium will naturally do

You could alway strip and re anodise to get back to original factory finish depending on how important these are to the owner
