tbh i haven't seen that sort of post from David, the only comments iv seen personally where on a detail group where he was being helpful to the person asking the question. It seems honest and helpful...

I've used the Plasticote sprays to cover some unwanted chrome with matte black on my car and found it really good. Several light coats and it still looks good 2 years on

Used it on some chrome bits on the front of the car to black them out about 4 years ago. It has held up very well and is just getting to the point where it could do with being peeled off and redone....
