I spent ages trying to find a technique which worked with MF pads and never found it. I went back to wool & foam and everything started to work again.

2,200 rpm would generally be considered to be very high speeds. High speeds are not paint friendly as they cause the paint to swell.

Using a polish like Menzerna I would start on the slowest speed...
