I suspect its not dissimilar to some of the engine flushes, ie it thins the oils down for better draining, and contains cleaning...

It does, a box of soap flakes can be had at most large supermarkets pretty cheap too - that was the recommendation for cleaning soft leather sofas years ago

Mostly cleaning, with some small upgrades/fixes along the way. Sorting the seat tilt issues probably took as long as removing the dog hairs....

Could be that the plasticisers havent escaped from the dash panel in the area where the suction mount was, or there's been a reaction with the sealing surface of the mount.

I'd start with an APC...

I'm not a fan of the early Mk7 shape, although the latest ones are more appealing. they dont seem any roomier in the cabin and the rear visibility for reversing is dreadful for learners IMO
