Clay and Fusso question

Hi everybody,
First I'd like to say that I am complete noob in detailing but I would like to try and do something myself. My car is Mercedes C class, 8 years old,
obsidian black, that never had any detailing. The paint still looks pretty nice (couple of minor swirls from washing), but recently I found that the surface was very gritty to the touch.
So I decided to do something about it, and I did some research and finally ordered BH Medium Clay. Also I found out in my research that it would be nice
to put some sealent after claying so I also ordered Fusso soft99 Dark. So my question is can I just wash my car, clay the car, wash again, and put
fusso, or do I need to put something under Fusso, or clean the surface with something before Fusso. All work would be done by hand.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
