A company can charge whatever they want, it has nothing to do with a trainees perceived value and everything to do with their perceived value of taking on the job. If thats what that allocated time would make them elsewhere then why on earth would a company work for less than they are used to, to train someone to be their future competition. Its short sited.

From my perspective, the company in question does amazing work, on amazing cars and have great staff. Thats not a lot of money to pay to spend around successful motivated experienced people in a real world environment passing on knowledge they too have paid and worked for.

IMO training is essential. Panels and you tube are simply not enough if you want to be successful. Anything else is an accident waiting to happen so I commend you for taking it seriously and looking at quality tradesmen
