Absolutely fuming!

Ok my car went in to the body shop on 25th March to have warranty work carried out involving roof respray, rear bumper and bonnet respray, new black gloss trim on drivers side and to square the bonnet up. Finally picked my car up late last night, and they were literally ushering me out the door as they close at 5.30 and I already made them wait 10 mins due to getting stuck in traffic. So this morning I had 10 mins look around before leaving off for work and found this.

About an inch long scratch to the top of the boot lid.

Then coming home from work I could hear an annoying whistle right beside my right ear. So when I got home I found this

The trim has come away from the door panel and on closer inspection it looks as though they have broken all the fixing tabs and used double sided tape to stick it down.
They didn’t even stick it level!

And yes the dust is how the car was when collected from the shop, the body work feels terrible, it I’m reluctant to touch it until I’ve taken it back and shown them what I’ve found so far. I know as I wash it I will probably find more issues!

I feel your pain. Seems to be the level of acceptable output from an approved body shop...

Well, been back this morning, they pulled out the polishers give it 3 hits and the scratch is gone. Got to go back tomorrow as time running out (got to take wife to work before I go myself) but they going to remove the trim, apparently it’s help with clips and tape, but as I pointed out if the clips were in place at the very least it would be level and not dropped. They had no answer for that!.

This sort of tat grinds my gears.

I always wonder if it's a lack of time, or a lack of care, a "I can't be bothered" attitude or - much more worrying - a lack of skill?

Clearly there are people out there who can produce fantastic results - we've all followed their threads on here. .

Hope you get it sorted properly.

Andy

Hope you get it sorted out - really poor service especially with the trim piece, I’d much prefer them to be open and honest with me and say we mucked it up and new one needs to be ordered, rather than trying to get away with it and hope you don’t notice !
