Question new sofa- spray treatment or no

were getting a new cloth sofa , wondering is it worth going over it with a few cans of protector ? not sure im convinced it works

I would be inclined to say no, i don't what product you are thinking of using but some products can affect the fire retardant and could also affect the fabric i.e make the fabric feel prickly or rough.
Maybe see or upgrade you contents insurance to cover accidents.

If I was going to do anything, it would be Gtechniq Smart Fabric. Doesnt contain XXX chemical (due to its love of catching fire) and it didnt make my car mats or seats feel weird.

I’ve used cans of ScotchGard for years, on sofas and cars. Stinks for days though.

May try the GTechniq next time, thanks.
