My M2 Competitions engine hasn't been de-tuned.

This afternoon I paid a visit to my friends at GAD tuning to have my M2 Competition put on the Dyno to see power figures and to my and their surprise the Dyno produced these figures.

IMG_0726.jpg

the claimed power figures for the M2 Competition from factory stock are 410 BHP and 550 NM of torque. However the Dyno returned figures that are pretty much what a stock M3/M4 are and as you can see the Dyno produced 424.11 BHP and 638.11 NM of torque. GAD tuning have had power figures from various M2 Competitions showing between 404 to 409 BHP so it looks like my particular cars engine had gone through the production line without being detuned. Very pleased to say the least and the guys at GAD tell me if I go ahead I'll be looking at around 525 BHP and over 700 NM of torque.

Most BMW’s under report their HP that’s how it’s always been with them, if I’m honest these rolling tests can vary hugely as well with what I have seen.
One thing to bare in mind is the current clamp down being muted by BMW finance on unapproved tuned cars on any BMW PCP contracts.
They are getting car back into system that new customers are finding out past history and rejecting cars, just be carful.
The M2 CP is very popular up here seen a good few, here they are great drivers car

I get what you are saying Derek but I intend to keep the car and won't be returning it back to BMW. A single stage tune is well within the engines capabilities, unlike what Ricky from LLF had done to his M4.

But it’s not for us to decide that while on PCP unfortunately, BMW are standing to lose out big time, I totally get it’s well within capabilities , but it’s still a huge risk re warranty if they can prove it’s linked to Tune, and data logging shows it all.
It would not mater if you planned to keep or not as until you pay the ballon you are under the contract that stipulates needs approval.
BMW will have to be careful as their image is getting tarnished and depreciation getting out of hand.

Yeah I see that video online from Drivetribe talking about LLF. Having received a demand for full payment or they’re taking the car back after it’s mods to nearly 720 bhp.

I wouldn't go that far Cue ball, it's just an exceedingly good sports car.
