Gtechniq Gtechniq was founded by quantum physicist Drew Gill in 2001, out of a total dissatisfaction with the performance of paint protection products at the time. Everything from waxes, to new-fangled polymers and PTFE based miracle treatments, nothing on the market offered any meaningful durability, either in looks, or protection. Worse still, he found that most of the products actually performed poorer than the paints they were supposed to protect. From this discontent came a simple idea, ‘To engineer the world’s most beautiful, perfectly finished, smartest and most intelligent surfaces. Surfaces that do much more than simply look great when new.’

I'm thinking then if you not concerned about the scratch resistant aspect, just use C1.5 and save a few pounds but still get the shine and hydrophobic qualities. That way you could use it over something with filling capabilities such as SRP or Cleanser Polish. I'm sure you'd still get decent longevity too. It's appears to be a system that's very versatile depending on what you're after. Maybe that should be the next product, a Gtechniq all in one product like Wolfs Shine and Seal.

think most have guessed what's what re the new C1.

the durability side of both versions are, on autos, not, to us a deciding factor as they are both arguably more durable than how an average car will be treated. by this I mean, most finishes will have been degraded through poor maintenance before the coating fails. this degradation will be lessened by both products at more or less the same factor. New version will offer somewhat better resistance.

big plus is ease of application. not a massive factor in chilly old Blighty but a massive consideration for the boys slapping it on superyachts in teh Med and the Middle East as well as applicators in hot n humid Asia.

hydrophobic function. on new version whilst initially poorer will retain this function longer than old version. but c1.5 has exactly the same hydrophobic function as old c1 and as this is simply to apply, this function can be maintained very easily.

most info is there on the vid and c4 and c5 will be updated to this formula too. new formula is more chem resistant than old version too.

Eh? Easier to apply (but in 2 stages admittedly) with better chemical resistance. Seems win win to me.

Do you feel they are dumbing the products down to open up the products to a larger audience?

As long as the products still do a great job and are easier to apply - I'm all for this new direction.

The new C1+ sounds like a real winner to. Think I found my LSP for the RS !

Will there be a Kit available (like in the vid) with C1+ and C1.5 ? any release date and prices ?

so with C1 being so super non stick, I'm guessing C1.5 will require more regular applications to keep up water behaviour as it won't bond quite as well onto bare paint?
