silly question but have you checked all the earth leads and made sure they are OK? Is there a lead connected to the handbrake cable?

think i have sussed it!

went through my records as to when this always seemed to occur and found it was usually after a late evening, so i went through things in my head about what i kept doing that may have contributed to this problem, and the only thing i could think of was that i left the headlights on as a "guide me home" thing it has, like delayed lights turning off when i parked up, thus when next morning i got into the car, and started up, the headlights where already on so must have put an extra strain on it, or a bit if a "surge" of power maybe?

so now every night i leave the lights off when i park up, or make a note of the fact I've left them on, and turn them off before attempting to start car, and so far, no more blown fuses!!!!!!
