Guys, as you know I picked one up at Waxstock.

Used it the other day on the Merc. - Very, very impressed. Ease of use and workability. Panels are smoother than a babies bum

Clay cloth coating safe?

Does the clay cloth remove any existing ADS coatings on the paint? Sicko, Aaron, Spiros, NGPS?

Thanks all!

My best guess answer is no, or shall we say not entirely. Unlike clay, the
ADS clay cloth is not abrasive in and of itself, so even the ADK wax can be
treated to a clean. The only product that might not make the list is NGPS,
but that's so easy to apply it doesn't matter too much.

I will add one caveat to my reply. In some ways, this could also be a string
length question. The reason for this really depends upon how gently you do
your cleaning; the strength of whatever is in the rinse bucket; how long since
the coatings were applied and under what conditions. All these will have a
bearing.

What I have found is that the coatings, and indeed the ADK wax, seem to be
able to resist contaminants to a fair extent. If you look at this video of me
using a clay cloth on the C class Merc, that was 4 months after I'd applied
ADKotsos...
There was equally very little noise, or resistance, when I worked on my car
doing a full decon some 10 months after the Octagon Formula coatings were
applied. See Post #24

Regards,
Steve

Have to say that I managed to pick up one of the ADS clay cloths recently, based purely on your review / use guide and other helpful posts on this site

Just to echo your sentiments, this item is SUPERB ! Wish I had taken the plunge sooner!!

Many thanks yet again for your well written, well thought out and beautifully described posts on here. This is what an enthusiast site is all about IMHO
