PAC Code

Going round in circles and hoping somebody might know the answer to this.

Left Vodafone about 6 weeks ago and ported my number and wife’s number to Sky Mobile. Both numbers are on the same account.

As Sky Mobile isn’t very mobile it seems, we are going back to Vodafone.

Sky are adamant they issue one PAC code and it covers both numbers and say I just need to let Vodafone know.

Vodafone are adamant need 2 PAC codes.

Checked twice with both and no movement both say they are right.

This can’t be the first time somebody has tried to move 2 numbers from the same account to a new provider at the same time?!?

Who is right and who is wrong? Need to keep both numbers, had them years and linked into all sorts of things like Authenticator for work etc.

Yes and no as Sky are adamant they only issue one and Vodafone are adamant they need two!

Read around it and for each post that says one code needed another says you need separate.

My thinking is as soon as I use the PAC code it will leave the other number behind and ‘stranded’?!?

Just had to Google it, as this is what we did.

Getting a PAC code from your network is easy. As of July 2019, all you have to do – no matter what network you’re requesting the code from – is text ‘PAC’ to 65075, using the number that you want to keep.

Hopefully, the above will give you two PAC codes

Getting a PAC code isn’t a problem. Getting 2 seems to be the issue

A little progress…spoke to yet another person at Sky.

They said about a year ago things changed and one PAC code is normally issued for multiple numbers on the same account if porting. They did however generate me two separate codes.

To cover myself will still speak with Vodafone as still slightly worried once a PAC is used for one number, whilst not instant, if there are any issues it may cause problems with the remaining number as they process through independently of one another.
