Cool My car of the day, Tesla roadster.

A prototype of the Tesla roadster has appeared at the Grand Basel car exhibit. This is the first time it's been seen in public and my first impressions are favorable ( I'll soon know what you think ). Production will begin in 2020 and unlike traditional roadsters that have an electrical retractable roof, owners will need to physically remove the middle section and stow it away within the car. Tesla claim that their roadster will be the worlds fastest accelerating car that can hit 0-60 in 1.9 seconds and 0-100 in 4.2 seconds , quicker than what the Focus RS gets to 60. A 200 KW battery pack and three electric motors where you have two motors powering the rear wheels and one motor powering the front. The foot pound of torque is quoted at 10,000 Nm and the top speed will hit 250 MPH . you'll need to dig deep as this roadster will command a £151,000 price tag and Tesla will only except a £34,000 deposit and that's before you even start playing with the configurator.

£150k seems an awful lot for a souped-up milk float.

I don't mind its shape etc but I could think of ten or twenty better candidates for my non-existent £150k...

It's a nice looking car. It's going to be in the next bond film with Musk playing the Bond villain

Ive worked on a few teslas now, and they are very impressive. I truly think this will be the game changer. Lots of people who have never driven one, sat in one, or walked past one like to criticise, they will always find problems to solutions.

This has the potential to be one of the fastest cars in the world ever, for £150k. thats a bargain

I'm probably going to be alone in this, but I don't like it.
