It's rain, not fog, rain !!!

So, for the love of god, switch your fog lights off

It ain't foggy - that wet stuff you need your windscreen wipers on for - it's rain !!!

Can't believe the amount of numpties I followed on the motorway tonight with their rear fog lights on !

Anyway, vent over

Just as bad as those morons that put their front ones on as soon as there's a slight dip in the daylight.

It's just standard now, I'd almost understand it if you didn't have to actively turn them on every time.

Some (BMW Minis, and seemingly Toyotas) use them as running lights. I assume the Toyotas do anyway, as most of the taxis around here drive around with the fogs on permanently and I'd expect professional drivers to know better...

The other one earlier, dipped beam headlight out so obviously you put yours fogs on to compensate. What other option do you have?

Highway Code says it all their not just for fog ; Rule 226
You MUST use headlights when visibility is seriously reduced, generally when you cannot see for more than 100 metres (328 feet). You may also use front or rear fog lights but you MUST switch them off when visibility improves (see Rule 236).

Or the slightest hint of mist, on go the fog lights.

Winds me right up! I class fog when you can’t see your hand in front of your face, otherwise it’s mist!

Side lights and fog lights, that’s the one that gets me.

What I hate that’s worse IMO is those that drive around with their lights off

Love those who drive at 70 with fog lights on If you need fog lights then there is no way you should be doing 70!

I was driving through really heavy rain the other week, the type where you can hardly see anything with full wiper speed and slowing down-Rear fog light was on for that because I didn't want to risk anyone going into the back of me.

EDIT:
My van is an import, so the rear fog is a bolt on thing hanging under the rear bumper to the right hand side, it won't be possible to be confused with brake lights.
