The Thank You Thread

I was kind of wondering earlier why we don't have one off these; maybe as a sticky?

These will all be reasons towards Detailing World, and why we would like to say thank you to them.

I'll kick off with this simple one :

Left work in a happy mood today - it's Friday after all. Done the usual walk around the car before driving off, only to find the ugliest 2 inch round bird dropping on my back driver's wing!

Not a happy bunny as you could imagine.

Popped the boot and got my pre-mixed car shampoo in an ex-QD spray bottle. Lubed the turd, and left it for a while to soak. Gently using my nail, I managed to lift the thing off, in small bits, whilst continuing to lube the area.

10 minutes pass.

I've now been left with a ghostly etching of the entire thing!!

Back in to the boot, I pull out the AG SRP. Apply this over the area, and try buffing, using the MF's I always keep in the boot. It's still there!!!

Reach back in to the boot, and grab the Menzera IP. Apply this using a German Applicator - hmmm....it seems to be lightly removing areas, but still not good.

Time's now passing, and I jump in the car, as I'll need to get home for tea.

Rushing down the back garden looking like I've just hit someone; shaking too; I get asked what's wrong. So I say about the above, and that I just can't stop for tea right now, as I'll need to get rid of the etching first.

Plugging in the electrics, I go in to the shed and pull out the Makita....this means WAR! Out comes the Menzerna IP, and I crank up the rotary. Gently applying at a speed 1, and then up to a 2.5, back to a 1, I stand back and take a look. It's definitely working this time.

I reach for the 3m Fast Cut (also in the boot), and chuck that on the pad. Speed 1, up to a 2, and back to a 1, I keep testing the area with the back of my hand to make sure I'm safe to continue...

....20 minutes later and it's barely visible unless you press your nose against the paint.

So where did all this knowledge, and understanding of what to do, and when to do it come from? What about all the products; knowing what to use exactly. How did the etching get terminated?....

....because DW taught me HOW to.

So, here's my HUUUUGE Thank You to DW, and all those that have helped me save my car.

Dam Krim your dedication to your car is touching .Now I know I'm not the only one who carries a bag of cleaning things I can tell the wife to shove her opinions up her nose. She's always taking the mick because of the back pack of things I carry. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one

If it wasn't for DW I would probably still be spending £700 a month on beer and fags.......Now I spend it on products I sometimes struggle to understand, Tshirts I don't need, Hoodies I am too old to wear (info supplied by daughter) courses I hope I remember and days out that suggest I am not as good as I try to be.

Thank you DW

No posts in this section for coming up two years. Well I should say a massive thank you to DW for allowing me to meet people who have been nothing but supportive during the lowest part of my life, without some of them and more specifically one true great mate I'd not be here to type this.

This really is a damn great forum full of well meaning and seemingly good folk. There's very few arguments or people out looking for disagreements and that's a rare thing these days in my experience.

Long may DW continue.

Thank you for the creation of car care in general. This morning I spent 3 hours cleaning my car to the point it was spotless. I then did the school run and parked under a tree which must have been the lavatory for anything that could fly in the local area. I've never experienced anything like what happened before but I sure as hell wont be parking there again.
Back from school, greenstar + jetwash and the cars spotless again in 30 minutes.
Thank you for chemicals and strong performing waxes!!!!!!

Noahs had a great season. Finished league runners up once I took over the side. Won 12 on the bounce. Moving up to u13s next year and he wants to be captain again. Not sure about that yet. We're still training outdoors every Sunday. The lads have bought into it and next year should be another good one fingers crossed
