Carbon Collective Platinum Wheels

Hello,
As time have become a little less available recently due to a newborn, I’m looking to add products to my kit which last longer and also reduce cleaning time.

Few CCPW questions although they are probably true for any coating.

I’m going to need to do a wheel at a time over a few weekends. Is this going to cause issues with me using more applicator pads?

When I buff off with the Microfibre As it has product on people say don’t use it again. Does this mean never so throw it in the bin or it must be washed before future use? If it is bin can anyone recommend some cheap cloths.

Oh and finally should the wheels be cleaned with IPA before application? What dilution?

Thanks

Yes, you should throw away the cloths entirely after use. I don't think you'll use more applicators doing it one at a time, as I generally used a few per wheel anyway. Just get some cotton make-up pads from Asda or wherever.

And yes, it's best to do an IPA or panel wipe type wipedown beforehand to remove all grease and any old coatings from the wheels. The cleaner the paint is, the better the coating will adhere.

You'll need to remove the wheels to apply the coating really. You can't get them clean enough or reach all parts of the wheel on the car.

You also need decent ventilation. I did wheels in the lounge with this stuff previously and almost gassed myself out.

Thank you for the reply,

Do you know the dilution ratio for the IPA? I have a neat bottle of panel wipe.

I’ve purchased some bulk micro fibre clothes so they can be binned afterwards.

Yep, I was planning on taking the wheels off so I can do the barrels too. They are just OEM SKODA wheels but I think clean wheeela make a car.

Thanks

Do you just mean the cotton pads you get from Tesco for £1?

Yes, that's what you get a few of in the kit. I ran out and nicked some from my missus bathroom stash 👍
