Still looks relatively modern and arguably better looking than some more recent Vauxhalls.

My first car was a 1982 Astra 1.3L in Sapphire Blue Metallic; fond memories (except for the hot starting).

Had the 1.8 model around 12 years ago now and I really liked it.

Makes me miss my old girl, gorgeous 1 owner Exclusiv with only 46k on the clock.

Should never have sold her.

Looks very sharp for a car of that age.

i knew someone back in the day who had one of these identical to yours, also with the 1.8 Z18XE lump. i thought it was a flying machine at the time, it made me want an astra sri with the same engine, but back then didn't realise that weight played such a big factor.

i think these are quite overlooked in the warm/hot hatch scene, relatively light car + 125bhp you'd think they would be as popular as the suzuki swift sport

Growing up I always wanted one of the 1.8 SRI's they looked cracking. Lad on my street had one and I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread- it could shift as it had various mods
