Machine polishing question M105

Hi All,

I need some advice. I started polishing my car (black merc clc 200) with a DA using the M105 on a hex logic orange pad. however, by the time i was done with the hood, it was quite late.

I had to use the car the next morning and intend to resume polishing tomorrow.

do i start again with the 105, or will i be okay with a decon / clay followed by the 205 on the hood ?

Whether you need more 105 depends on whether you are happy with the swirl removal achieved. Go to 205 prematurely and you'll spend longer removing any defects that are still there. But if driven, a good clean is definitely healthy although you may get away without claying as little may have become embedded in the meantime. No harm checking of course. A thorough wash and resume the 105 until happy with defect removal, then hit the 205 for refinement. Maybe panelwipe/IPA to see finish achieved. You will find any dropback occurs after a wash usually, 1-2 weeks after the polishing session, as the oils have evaporated in the compound.

Are you wearing a respirator? That dust will kill you.
