Hand Puck for sanding etc

Hi,

in this video on headlight restoration from Apex Detailing, at the 8.30 mark the guy brings out a solid looking foam puck that has velcro on one end for attaching sanding discs to.

The video is US but does anyone know if the same thing is available in the UK?

Also where to get the "trizac" discs of sanding paper in 3000,2000, 1000 sort of grades?

Thanks. Hope its not against rules to post the video link.

Still looking...

A normal rectangular block might work just as well and I am sure you will find it easier to get the grades of paper you want in sheets.

He once said he made the puck himself from old applicators or something

Yes it does - its a hard plastic, works well with the microfibre pad it comes with.
With out measuring it, I'd say it's about 3"x 2.5" oval

Never used it for sanding though

It wont be any good for sanding it's not flat and has a hole in the middle, you want the auto finesse handi Puck

Or £4.59 | 72mm Foam Hand Sanding Block Hand Pad Polishing Pad for Hook and Loop Disc
https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/hoOO5qY

I've use the handi Puck on headlights many times

Not quite the answer to your question
I use the Autofinesse Handi Puck for hand polishing paintwork and find it much better than the flat polish applicators
