Gyeon Pure & q2 mohs

Hi guys,

trying to learn the Gyeon range - what's the difference in Gyeon Pure & q2 mohs.

also - After polishing a car with rupes yelow and yellow rupes fine polish would you panel wipe before coating?

Not too sure about the first part of the question but I think on the Gyeon site you can compare the products in terms of hardness, slickness, durability etc (open to correction here)

To the second part, yes.

A panel wipe will help remove any polishing oils that could otherwise have a negative effect on the bonding of the coating/sealant/wax. If using Gyeon coatings I would lean towards using Gyeon Prep or Car Pro Eraser. You could also use an IPA, I tend to use both as I've heard panel wipe is different to IPA.

Hope that helps a little.

Basic difference: Pure is easier to apply and less durable. MOHS more durable and not as easy to apply.

For more details I recommend looking at both products on PolishedBliss, they have extensive product information and also great service if you need help before purchase.

Gyeon MOHS is dead easy to apply, but requires multiple layers. I don't find it to bead as good as other ceramic coatings. Pure should have better water behavior and needs only one coat.

yes you will need to panel wipe before application, Gyeon recommend washing after polishing with a degreaser as well, Having applied Gyeon Pure before it is sticky to remove but there is a video in the gyeon section shows how to apply & remove as it is a different method to other coatings- beading and water behaviour and gloss levels are absolutely immense from Pure
I have read that MOHS is easier to apply

I found Gyeon Prime a nice easy one but don't think its available anymore since i used it in 2014. Was a good starting place for me into paint ceramics
