E36 M3 GTII Evo Individual

Hey Guys

Starting a thread as per car in title which I was lucky enough to purchase last weekend. Have been a big fan of the E36 M3 from its release. I've dreamt of owning one for a very long time (the obsession grew vastly thanks to offyourmarks!) , so when this one popped up for sale I couldn't resist!

Now there isn't much to look at in this first post but thought I'd get the ball rolling so here we go...

Here she is after collection

Also called in to see its older brother, my fathers 1996 Evo, 64000 miles minter, was PBs June show and shine winner

Wheels looking on the dull side

[URL=http://s1072.photobucket.com/user/gibson3050/media/DSCF1620_zps33042a6f.jpg.html]

So out with the foam, Ultramousse with a dash if G101

Wheels liberally sprayed with Smart Wheels, tyres and arches G101. I will be taking these off later to do a proper job on them.

And rinsed, a bit better

And the front

Foam Rinsed off with power washer

Seals, moudling etc tackled with G1001 and valetpro brush

Out with the 2 buckets, AF lather and merino mitt

Out with the Orchard Tar Cleanse

Didn't show up well in the photos but there was quite a bit

This was followed by Iron Cleanse which revealed very little, followed by AF clay and Glide

Foamed once more and rinsed to leave this

Dried with Microfibre Madness Dry Me Crazy

Seeing the sun was out lets have a look at the defects

In need of a good correction then, time wasn't on my side as I had a service booked so only had time to try a few combos, settled on Scholl S17+ on Scholl wool pad

Oxidation on bootlid

Bonnet, no refining

Under the lights

Couldnt resist giving the engine bay the 303 treatment

Interior got the once over as well with AF Total and Spritz, windows with AF Crystal. Was in good condition to begin with, gear knob to be replaced, driving me nuts!

Exhausts were polished with Autosol, I would have preferred original but the scorpian does make a rather good sound

A few of her outside again, mouldings and seals with revive, Satin on the tyres.

These landed in the post

That's it for now folks I'll keep this updated as I go (hopefully). Here's whats coming up in the next weeks, months etc...

- Full paint correction with possible wet sand
- wheel removal, polish
- Diff, wishbones etc removal for sandblasting and paint (maybe powdercoating)
- Polybush fitting
- New corner splitter(s)
- I'm sure the list will go on.

Thanks for looking

Andrew

That's a great looking car and a top project! What's even cooler is your dad has one, so you have two great M3s in the family!
I wouldn't change anything apart from the reg plates to standard font.

Well the dakar and estoril are both my dads, I intended to do build thread on the track car but wasn't about enough for the pics. He used to have a 1995 boston green saloon, haven't seen one like it since.

Imagine the how much more expensive the car would have been if it was sold in a state like this!
