Corsa B Project

Well I have been following this site for a few years now and have finally taken the plunge to start posting. A quick background, I had my first car when i was 10 years old and have been hooked since, I began cleaning as a hobby around 17 and have been slowly making progress since. I now clean cars for a few local traders on the evenings and weekends, but there is plenty of room for improvement and as i have recently bought a DAS6 and some pads I was on the lookout for some old panels to practice on, this lead me to the Corsa.

Now onto the car. I recently acquired this 1999 Corsa B 1.0 12v. It was laying in a neighbours yard for 2 years so it has acquired a thick layer of dirt and mold. I'm not sure if this car will be fit to go back on the road again as there is a lot of rust. but it will do me for practicing and trying out new products and techniques.

The car needed a new fuel pump and altenator, both of which were laying in the back but the work was never finished. This will be the first priority so it can be moved about more easily.

Well I have managed to swap the fuel pump, give it a drop of petrol, quick jump start and away it went.(thankfully!!!) The next step was to remove the junk give it a quick wash and get it in the shed.

After a quick wash

Nice tidy job done on the sill previously

The next step was to get the seats pulled out, give the car a hoover and see what state the carpets were in.

I managed to get the drivers side a quick run over with the george aswell. It might need a few more before it can be considered clean but it's a start.
