CAR Registration.

I have had plenty of cars, some sold, what registration do you remember ?

We bought a car belonging to Jimmy Armfield the footballer.

AFV 204B

OCB 227 was a Morris Minor I shared with my sister.

What is your story of the one that got away ?

GUB 2K, bought in 1973, should have kept it for the Millenium

AS 4515 on an old MG

CD 6110 on a Sunbeam Motorcycle

if you asked me what the reg was of the car sitting on my drive today, I would have to go and take a look, then come back in and got out with a pen and paper because I would have forgotten it again.

I can remember every car registration plate I've owned. I can also remember many of my dad's cars. None of them are anything other than the normal plate assigned to the car.

However I've managed to forget the numbers of my old houses.

Can remember a fair few of mine but have had around 40 in total over the last 16 years so it’s tricky.

I'm awful at remembering numbers but, ironically, I can remember the worst dog of a car my mother had - AUD 1R - on a copper metallic Audi 100.

We were living in Oxford at the time and UD (IIRC) was an Oxford area prefix, along with JO and BW, so I think the car which was supplied locally had the number issued with just a little more than luck of the draw - I suspect the franchisee greased a palm to secure it.

I had A10 HDT on a MK2 Astra Estate which I had for 11 years and sold it for more than bought.
Strange thing is it has never been Mot'd since!?
