Yes and yes. All these types of products do compromise the durability of the wax to some extent but this leaves a sealanty layer which is usually easier to bond to compared to a waxy oily layer.

You can put sealants or waxes over CP, either works well. My rough rule of thumb is that using CP loses you about 25% of the durability you would have had without it.
