Bought a 2011 Citroen Berlingo van last month and it came with a Rhino roof rack. As we will never use it and not really keen on the look on I decided to remove the roof rack thinking it was just fixed from the outside....
The bolts won't shift and looks like they are also fixed on the inside but how do you gain access to the bolt? The metal housing at the bottom doesn't appear to move.
Its a captive nut, you will probably find water has sat in the captive nut and the bolt has just corroded in. See if you cat spray some plus gas and get it to soak.
Then with a hammer tap the bolt, then go inside and gently tap the captive nut upwards.
If you have one use an impact driver to undo the bolt, if you don't have one use a spanner and work it back and forwards, at the same time tap the head of the bolt.
The interior nut is a rivnut. The bolts have rusted in. Spray a load of WD40 in, leave for a day or so, keep applying it. They will come undone, once you have removed them you'll need to cover the holes with grommets, or preferably get some of the caps for the Berlingo from Citroen. Otherwise the van will leak in.
