Cool My car of the day, new Porsche Mission E

Could Tesla's days be numbered? Because Porsche's Mission E is close to production and it could be a viable alternative to the traditional sports saloon. Porsche has remained tight lipped on specifics for the Mission E but one thing that's interesting is it seems to share interesting details with pre-production test cars, which are mirrors, headlights and door handles. The mission E will have it's own all electric platform and won't be based on any current Porsche or VW group model. The mission E will sit on a 'skateboard'-style chassis and have it's batteries installed under a thin slab under the main body. An electric motor will sit on each axle generating 592 BHP and will reach 60 MPH in 3.5 seconds. Top speed will be limited to 155 MPH. A range of 300 miles has been quoted by Porsche. Porsche's designers have lowered the front bonnet that creates a thin body-side,exaggerated by the big wheels. Porsche has invested £700 million in to the new model and the technology that shows a level of commitment that will see more EV models in future Porsche ranges.

It will live and die by the charging infrastructure.
Should say I like the look and spec.

I like that but as much as I would want one I will never be a Porsche customer. As above will sell as well as the charging availability is & currently its not good enough outside of California.

Can understand why they feel the need to add something that looks like a tailpipe on an electric car.

Love the looks, got to be a yes from me . . .

I do remember reading somewhere that on the Porsche charging station it could take an 80% charge in 15 minutes. But as mentioned above, what will the availability of these charging stations be . . . ?
