She was re tested on the MOT this morning and......

taaaa-daaaaaaaaaaa

Tyres on the back have about 4mm, will last for summer and when the suspension is done over winter it'll have new tyres at the point of it having it's suspension aligned.

I kept myself busy with the TT's bigger brother

whilst waiting for the news....

I had a similar advisory on one of my tyres on the Avensis last year - not One of them at any point was less than 5mm (as I asked the garage to put my winters on when I saw the advisory). I have the tyres under canvas - all totally fine!

They also advised surface corrosion on an anti roll bar (on a 9 year old car) - ruined my effort for zero advisories!!

Same with the Lexus this week - one advisory - child seat fitted in the rear!! Why do some testers feel the need to log these pointless things!

I think if testers continuously/routinely pass vehicles without advisories it would cast suspicion on them.

They need to document they are aren't a soft touch.

agreed, I'd rather an advisory than the **** womble fail it on a side light bulb, back in the day they'd have just changed it...

I class MOT testers as 1 rung up the ladder from Estate Agents

Because they are unable to test the seat belt and they are unable to remove anything during the test. Put simply if you don't want the pointless advisory then remove it before taking it for an MOT.

Agree but it has NEVER been an issue in any of our cars, not ever been mentioned. Lexus, who have done every other MOT on this car, seem able to check the belt and test it fine with a seat in place as it is all visible and you can check the top mounting and bottom clip easily too.

The company who did the undersealing work were also aggravated by the “pointless nature of it” - the same when their own cars have a mention of underseal in the MOT advisories.
