Gtechniq Gtechniq was founded by quantum physicist Drew Gill in 2001, out of a total dissatisfaction with the performance of paint protection products at the time. Everything from waxes, to new-fangled polymers and PTFE based miracle treatments, nothing on the market offered any meaningful durability, either in looks, or protection. Worse still, he found that most of the products actually performed poorer than the paints they were supposed to protect. From this discontent came a simple idea, ‘To engineer the world’s most beautiful, perfectly finished, smartest and most intelligent surfaces. Surfaces that do much more than simply look great when new.’

CSL + Exo application timeframe

Hi,

I'll be putting Crystal Serum Light followed by EXO on my clio starting this weekend.

Car is garaged and clean. Plan is,

1. Finish Correction with Megs MF pads and compound.

2. Final Polish with P1 on foam pad.

3. Wipedown with Gtechniq Panel Wipe

4. One coat of CSL.

5 2 Coats of EXO

Following stage 4 of CSL, how long can I leave it like this until I put EXO over, know I can apply it 2hrs or even less after CSL but is there a max time before I apply EXO?

Then whats the time between EXO coats I can leave? (max and min time if there is a max) Could I leave it couple of days between coats or even longer provided I panel wipe between coats?

Is there any steps I need or dont need to the above. I'm trying to fit the process between work and other commitments.

Thank you.

I think panel wipe will remove most of the EXO so I wouldn't use PW between coats of EXO. However if it is left for days or a week you will really need to thoroughly wash and dry it before the second coat of EXO or just leave the EXO until you can do 2 coats at the same time.

I have always applied at least one coat of EXO 2 hrs after CSL but I don't think there would be any problem delaying it provided the car is totally cleaned beforehand although there might be a degree less bonding between the CSL and EXO if left too long.
