Cool My car of the day,new Kia X Ceed

The Kia X Ceed is based on the same platform as it's hatchback sibling and the two cars only share the front doors. The rest of the X Ceed has been redesigned and subtly tweaked to create a sloping roofline and a sportier stance. The X Ceed's ground clearance has been raised by 42 MM to give you the ability of some light off roading . The X Ceed has hydraulic bump stops for it's Mc Pherson strut front and multi link axle. The images you see here has a 134 BHP 1.6 litre CRDI turbo diesel engine fitted and it starts at £25,345 and with that you get a fair level of kit such as a 10.25 inch infotainment screen which includes sat-nav, Apple car play and Android auto. Other features are keyless entry, LED lights, heated seats and steering wheel, cruise and climate control, reversing camera and parking sensors. 0-60 is timed at 10.2 seconds and as with SUV's, it should be roomy and practical too.

Like it?

Went to look at one of these last weekend for the OH, quality wise absolutely comparable with anything else in the segment - I liked it and a damn sight easier on the eye than the BMW offering from yesterday

I like Kia as a make, "girlfriend has a Pro Ceed" but all these "SUV" types leave me cold, "why" is the question, they all look the same, they are often far too big for our "British roads" and car parking spaces, only give similar mpg, and appear to encourage the "little woman" taking the brats the 1/4 mile to school, and still unable to judge distance to park properly, in the USA I can see some benefits the roads are wide and open all these "benefits" are nullified as soon as you introduce them to narrow bumpy and tight roads with people that cant judge distances as in here, I know we always end up with "Americanisms" but why these?? and don't get me started on huge Pickups with tiny load spaces and car type seating.

As much as Kia have upped their game massively, certainly in terms of styling let alone by all accounts quality to match.

Being an SUV, this particular car makes me want to be a bit sick in my own mouth. I'll take the Kia Stinger any day. Even if it does sound like what happens to my bum after a particular hot curry!

they're copying the style of Merc and BMW but looks much better and built better too,

and they are about the same footprint as VW Golf as are most of the small SUV, but I'd still have a hatchback,
