Question My car of the day, new Renault Zoe.

Would you believe the Renault Zoe is now in it's third generation since it's launch in 2012 and Renault promises it will be every bit as innovative while remaining affordable. So this new version; depending on spec and wheel size claims to have a range of between 238 and 245 miles on a single charge. The new Zoe gets a fresh look, new batteries and a new motor. Styling changes are a tweaked nose, more chrome and full LED headlights to the front and rear, plus new wheels and colours. All models will use a new 50 Kw battery and a choice of motors. being a 107 BHP R10 unit. 0-60 is 9.3 seconds and top speed is 110 MPH. Other tech features are a 9.3 inch touch screen, an £800 technology pack while Renault will offer a purchase plan for the batteries. Prices for the entry level Zoe start at £16,670 plus battery lease scheme or £25,670 if you buy the car including the batteries. All models come with Apple car play, air con, sat nav, cruise control and auto headlights and wipers as standard.

I'm game, just for the fact that it's better than the Leaf in terms of Battery Tech. The Leaf still doesn't have liquid cooling for the batteries. Too many stories now of the batteries lifespan dramatically being reduce.

This revised Zoe isn't actually badly priced considering the competitors and has a decent range.

I really like it, it's such a big step up in exterior looks and interior quality. I owned the old Zoe for nearly 3 years and it was a very good car. It's a great car to drive and the instant torque comes in very useful.

The only problem is the charging infrastructure in the UK but it's getting better. A few times I almost got stranded because the car wouldn't connect to the charger....

I did consider the new Zoe but I couldn't wait until next year so got a Cupra instead

Not keen on the looks of it at all.

The tech sounds good and they are improving the power and miles per fill.

I just don't see Renault being able to get blokes to shell out on one of these, mainly down to looks. Its too tall, needs to be wider, lower and hunkered down to the floor to get me interested.
