56k Icon My car of the day, new 2021 Polo facelift.

VW have given the Polo it's mid-life facelift and on first impressions it's very much a Golf 8 styling. It's the brands sixth generation supermini and it's due on sale later this year. VW have overhauled the front with a new front bumper and headlight arrangement with new LED lighting bar that runs from the new look headlights. At the rear, the Polo receives a tailgate with new badging with the Polo name moved to below the rear badge. LED tail-light clusters have been redesigned to with a new Golf 8 inspired shape. The Polo will also get the R-line treatment that gets Matrix LED headlights and a sportier body kit. The front bumper of the R-line is partially Golf-R inspired and gets a different rear bumper with chrome effect Faux exhaust exits. As for the interior, the new Polo will get a digital instrument panel as standard on every version and a newly designed multi-function steering wheel with touch sensitive buttons. The engine line-up consists of only a 1.0 litre three cylinder petrol with the entry level 79 BHP naturally aspirated with 93 Nm of torque sending drive to the front wheels via a five speed manual gearbox. There will also be two turbo charged TSI petrol options with 94 BHP and 108 BHP with a DSG gearbox fitted as optional. VW have confirmed that the Polo GTI will return in 2022 that will feature the 2.0 four cylinder turbocharged petrol with 197 BHP.

Like it?

I actually prefer the look of that to the mk8 Golf. The rear looks more like the T-Roc, which is a good thing in my book. Cheers SB.

Looks good, not a fan of faux exhausts at the minute that car manufacturers are putting on.

Like this though.

Was just about to post the same comment, this is much tauter and crisper, makes the Golf looking very flabby

Good looking car

I'm a big fan of the massive storage space they've put between the wheel arches and the wheels

Needs a little drop in ride height IMHO

Definitely as cooks says, better looking than the Golf that's for sure.

Smart little car that, would happily buy as a run around.

A yes from me SB. A far better looking & preportioned car vs the mk8 Golf.

Thr colour reminds of Fords performance Blue.
