EPB’s - Love ‘Em Or Loathe ‘Em ?
EPB’s - electric parking brakes
Do you love ‘Em or loathe ‘Em ? I had my first car with one in 2009, a new Audi A4 (which also had hill hold assist) & I absolutely love it! Seems strange to get in car now with a ‘real’ handbrake lol Thoughts ?

The interior seems nicer when you have not got one to look at. I thought on the E class that the pedal was a little too close to the clutch pedal. Only downside is needing an odb reader to do a simple job like pad changes

Wasn't overly impressed with them and the Hill start is a pain when reverse parking on a hill as you can't just put your foot on the clutch and roll back. It's like most things these days they're designed to make life easier but also IMO makes for less of a driver. Does the test still include a hill start (or am I really showing my age) and if so can you switch hill start assist off? |

Not had a car with one in yet but i dont like the idea of them. I may convert as i hated the oil level sensors before but i kind of like them now, makes checking oil a doddle but is a bit of a pain come service time.
Only thing is they are much more expensive to repair if they go wrong. as with oil level sensors. Iv had one of those go on me and £100 for a new one is not nice when a dipstick has never gone wrong on me lol. |

Call me old fashioned but I would prefer a full mechanical hand brake, oil level gauge and temperature gauge. A lot of modern cars have none of the above!

You can't be a hooligan and perform handbreak turns with a silly EPB. A proper handbrake for me any day.

yet another pointless "gadget" for the sake of a gadget,
Yet another thing that people who cant drive properly can blame when it goes wrong |
