DetailedOnline new small wax applicators

Got one of DetailedOnline new small / mini wax applicator to try. Been waiting for these for what seems like ages.

They’re doing 2 types - a mini version of their normal full size applicator and one I’ve not seen before, but intrigued about - as below.

Small / mini wax applicator

New type

Both feel really well made, liking their brand on the top (it is on the small / mini wax applicator, but is more embossed rather than printed.

Both very good size for their 70ml pot...

Did a quick test with both...

The small / mini wax applicator is just that, a smaller version of their wax applicator, feels nice to hold, fits pot and loads up well and very easy to use - obviously takes a little longer as it’s a smaller foot print, but not significantly for me and the benefit of having the whole surface with wax, rather than just a proportion of the applicator (with a larger applicator) far out-ways the slightly slower process

Now, the new version of applicator - again, feels well made, the top black section is a more dense foam so you’ve something to ‘hold’ without it squishing down, appears to be very well adhered to the bottom blue softer foam layer, the 2 indentation make it easier to hold and use.

Applied to wing and it was great, easy to hold, to apply and spread the wax out very thinly, but it was fantastic for cutting into close areas / using on small detailing sections - say A pillar, under door handle, mirror caps - especially on mine.

For me, I’m not sure I would use this applicator on its own for the whole car - especially if you’ve large flat areas, but the 2 together in my option is a winning combination as you’ve got the small / mini wax applicator for larger areas so your hands / fingers don’t cramp up / hurt and the smaller ‘new’ one for the more intricate details.

One thing I did forget to photo was the height of the applicators, so I’ll do this later on and update.

Hope this helps and thanks for looking
