Question My car of the day, new Mercedes C-class.

This new C-class is based on a heavily updated version of the old cars MRA platform and it has plenty of nods to the new S-class as it looks to challenge the 3 series BMW. One things for sure is the interior, which represents a total revolution over the old model and more a passing resemblance to the dash of the new C-class limo. The new portrait style MBUX system rises out of the center console like on the S-class and comes in 11.8 inches in size. What's impressive is it features a finger print scanner that set's a drivers profile. The C-class comes with optional rear wheel -drive steering, the engine is an updated version of the previous cars 2.0 litre turbo with a new 48 volt mild hybrid system. Power goes to all four wheels through a nine speed auto gearbox. It has grown in length, 65 m more than before at just over 4.7 meters with a 25 mm longer wheel base for improved leg room. The only downside will be the lack of headroom due to the cars swooping roofline at the back.

Like it?

Love that steering wheel and cockpit generally.

Exterior looks a bit samey and boring though.

On account that I value interiors over exteriors i'd say Yes.

Why has it got fake exhaust trims in the rear bumper?
And yes, the above comment. If the interior was any more fussy it would be your 90 year old Nan.

So many buttons on the steering wheel they needed to add two more spokes to it.

Looks like the back end was left out in the sun - its melted

Restrained elegance that used to be bywords for Mercedes - out of the window

Gopping
