Mint, one of the best looking Hot Hatches ever. I too would prefer this to any Leon.

OK today's job (one of many) was to fit a new Radiator to the car.

OK -Back on track!

Today saw lesson 1 on how to machine polish using the Metabo Rotary, delivered by one of the countries leading detailers who may or may not have had a fag hanging out of his mouth at the time (there's your clue right there!!)

So after correcting my gash awful technique I set to work, polishing pad on a 3m backing plate (the "overlap" of the pad seemed to give me more control) and a Menz 2.03 on the thin bits and 3.02 0n the bits that had more paint.

The car was the Swissvax Cleaner Fluid'ed and then a coat of the gorgeous Swissvax Divine was applied.

There is some irony in the fact that the wax is £1500 and the car is worth approx £1500

Polish on:

Seemed to pick it up alright - half way through the rotary i stopped to call the printers and get cards made up proclaiming me to be a detailer.... (only joking!)

It was a very therapeutic day and I picked up a lot but of course only starting. I have both Paul and Bryan to thank for their kind advice and tutelage throughout the day, not to mention the seriously expensive Swissvax wax!!

End result was a Mk2 that attracted quite a bit of attention on the drive home!!

Finished article......

Favourite of the day...

Gorgeous with that wax on !!:

Love the result, thanks to the boys for all the work, what a way to spend the day, it was hilarious too!!

well simply put you buy it off a blokes drive in Ash Vale (not the nicest bit of a not very nice place to begin with) with no tax / having heard it 's been standing for 6 months. replace the leaking Rad £36, The gearchange linkage bushes and relay arm at £15, 2 x exhaust rubbers £4 ,New Interior at £90 and thats yer lot!!

TBH it was pretty rough looking when I bought it 2 Fridays ago but its come on a bit since. Its just a project / in between car to smoke about in until I make my mind up on a new ride but saying that maybe I should take it up to edition38 or similar and stick a silly price in the window!!
On the other hand it is growing on me and its a hoot to drive!!!
