Wet sanding a plastic bumper

Good evening all,

I managed to damage my bumper on my car today, only two very small chips but annoying all the same. I have filled the chips with touch up paint but they are obviously standing proud of the bumper. Is it safe to wet sand a plastic bumper? I have some 2000 grit wet n dry paper and a Megs G220 orbital polisher with various compound so happy to have a go to make it right if I can.

Many thanks.
