Anyone actually using QD as a "QD"?

Sounds stupid I know but almost every post I see is using QD as a finishing product after treatment or a proper clean, not as an interim action.

Is anyone actually doing "quick details"?

From CYC (just a random selection):

Quote:
we reccomend using Zymol Field Glaze between washes
Quote:
Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer cleans lightly soiled paint without scratching
Quote:
Meguiars Quik Detailer is the only product you'll usually need between washing and waxing
So I'm toying with doing a refresh, what are people's thoughts? Any good or horror experiences? Or do people just not bother?

I use BSD between waxes. I only wax my car about 3-4 times a year but use BSD after every wash between those waxes.

So that's 3 of us...

Yeah, after every wash I understand, I do that, it's between washes I'm curious about as the descriptions indicated that's what it's for (in some cases).

I'd be tempted to do a refresh. For example, I washed and topped up at the weekend, have done just 200 mway miles this week and a bit of rain, it doesn't really warrant or justify a wash/rinse/dry/qd but a refresh to brighten up could be in order...

That's a good example, any tips or just a spray, wipe, buff with frequent turns?

sure theres a post on here about the history of QD

think it was late 80's/90's they were developed for american/Australian markets as a type of waterless wash?

personally i use megs QD after a wash. wldnt use it on a dry car as youd just be rubbing the muck into the paint.

dad did come round the otehr day and said just jet wash it then QD but still not keen :-/

Yup, if i am doing a quick wash out comes the qd, QD's have a lot of uses besides adding some protection, they are kind of like the Swiss army knife of the detailing cupboard.

Have a quick look at Brian's Wowo's QD review

All the time always use a QD after washing in the drying part, and often give the TVR a wipe down with a Boncers QD.

As said above deffo use it at a car show.

Yep use it after washing but also use it at car shows.

Had an interesting chat with James at AF at a show the other week where he said the AF fleet only get detailed 1 or 2 times a year tops. The rest is just QD wiping after washing or to clean the cars when they get to shows.

I had previously been using a waterless wash at shows before a QD wipe, but tend to just use QD straight out of the box when i get there now. Just plenty of mf's and always use a clean face per swipe
