Setting up Samsung UE50TU7020KXXU

Get a weird message when trying to set up the new tv, it connected to the internet, but won’t actually do anything as it throws up this message

First I thought the newly installed BT broadband line isn’t compatible, but the iPhones work fine of it, the iMac works fine too, and our old laptop (windows 7) works fine off it too, so what could be happening here?

Shouldn’t have to hard wire it to the router should I?

Reboot your router first.

As said, reboot your router and as you say it connected to the internet - do a software check / update on the TV.

Hopefully sorts it

Another option to try - if your other devices connect no problem to your internet, try using 1 of those as a WiFi hotspot and see if you can get it to work then ?

I know BT sometimes blocks stuff or has the silly start up screen - you need to disable this as it makes life easier if you haven’t as this could be the issue…

This isn't directly related but some background to how things can break with poor design choices.

A few years back there was a fire in a Samsung data centre and Samsung.com was unavailable for a good few hours.
Samsung's idea for checking whether your TV had internet connectivity was to check whether it could reach Samsung.com so basically for that time, none of the streaming services were accessible on the TV.
