Its a little smoother when changing gear, the thump that I got when moving to D has almost disappeared, although it was at its worst when warm and I haven't had chance to give it a run. I've still got 4 litres left so i'll give it a few thousand miles and then change it again.

Oil quality can have quite an effect on the thump moving into "D" as you say, but a slightly high base idle speed can also affect the thump as well.

Might be worth a quick check with the diagnostic tool to check it?.

Top job on the car so far by the way
