With the rise of SUV's,Peugeot are out to prove that the family saloon is alive and kicking with their new 508 which will go on sale in the Autumn with a plug-in hybrid to follow next year. Peugeot have taken a more radical approach with the 508 such as a more aggressive roofline that tapers down to an extremely complex rear quarter panel, which has multiple pinch points as it incorporates not only parts of a scalloped 'shoulder' that runs from the front door, but also an extra blister over the rear wheelarch. The front of the new 508 has an uncanny resemblance of the Instinct concept, there are distinctive vertical strips for daytime running lights at either side of the car. Peugeot has elected to place the '508' badge on the leading edge of the bonnet as a nod to the classic 504, the 508's spiritual successor from 50 years ago. Inside Peugeot seem to have raised the bar on perceived quality with soft touch plastics, double stitching and grained finishes. The vehicle has Peugeot's take on their own virtual cockpit, with a fully digital instrument cluster. Peugeot plan to introduce a longer wheelbase version of the 508 for China but no plans to produce one for Europe.

Yes, I think I do. Very imposing and the cabin tidier than many.

Nice looking car and I really like what Peugeot are doing interior wise - irrespective of how good it turns out to be it won't sell as people do not want mainstream manufacturer saloons - wrong badge

I sold my 14 plate 508gt sw a couple of years ago, great car but I had a couple of niggles that the dealer couldn't fix, one being the tpms and the other a rogue front parking sensor. The new one is a much nicer cabin..
