Arrow My car of the day, new BMW M340i xDrive.

There has been quite a few BMW featured cars on car of day recently, That's because of their new cars coming to the market and I'm not ashamed to feature them at all, like any other car maker. It's just that BMW seem to be making the headlines at the moment with their new product launches. It wasn't long ago that BMW unveiled the new 3 series and until the full blown M3 arrives, you'll have this to contend with; the new M340i xDrive. It's due to make it's debut at next years Geneva motor show and this M340i will sit above the 330i. It marks the first time that BMW's sporting sub division has preceded the model number of a 3 series. The M340i has a brand new 3.0 litre straight six engine that is constructed largely from lightweight aluminium, while a revamped turbo charging system promotes improved fuel efficiency and turbine response. Power is now up to 369 BHP, up 47 BHP over the outgoing model. The new M340i now gets xDrive as well as an M sport differential which allows drivers to modify the power toward the rear-wheels. The M340i has M-branded Blue calipers mounted to 348 MM discs at the front and 345 MM to the rear. Other elements are extra vents at the front to "optimize" both cooling and air supply. Orders for the M340i begin in May starting £49,000.

On paper it ticks all the boxes I like but just looking at the pictures . . . I feel a little uninspired . . .

Why is it wearing a massive pair of spectacles? Is it the third Ronnie who was booted out for being too dull?

BMW have finally followed the trend for fake exhausts

50k is a lot for a 3 series, for that money i would be going for a used C63

M lite. I like it! Service should be a lot cheaper than M3.

Exhaust pipes look like the owner is trying to compensate for something else being too small...
